Track which layer produced each result, because a front-end rule that rejects valid input will cost you sales after launch.

Test the field lengths your form accepts, the behavior when a buyer leaves the security code blank, and the messages your page shows after each failure. Confirm that your logs store a token or a reference ID instead of the card number. Confirm that the security code never lands in a database, a log file, or an analytics event.
