Braintree Test Card v10: What It Is and How to Test Safely
There is no official Braintree test card v10. Use Braintree sandbox test numbers, a future expiry date, and any CVV, then confirm results in the control panel.
The Braintree test card v6 is not a standard Braintree-issued card number. It is a label that appears in some third-party tutorials, not an official sandbox value from Braintree. For legitimate testing, use Braintree's documented test card numbers with a future expiration date and any valid test CVV. These values work only in sandbox mode and cannot charge a real card.
Braintree's official sandbox documentation lists test cards by card brand and test scenario, such as Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. It does not publish a card called v6 in its standard test card list. When a guide uses the phrase Braintree test card v6, check whether the guide is naming a card number, a test scenario, or a version of its own test data. Do not assume the number is official because a page labels it that way.
Use test values from Braintree's sandbox documentation. The card numbers below are common Braintree test values. They are not real card numbers and must never be used in production.
Use a future expiration date. For Visa, Mastercard, and Discover, use any 3-digit CVV. For American Express, use any 4-digit CVV. If your sandbox settings require a postal code or address, use a test address that matches the Braintree test scenario you are checking.
A successful sandbox transaction confirms that your tokenization and server-side calls are wired correctly. It does not prove that your production account is approved or that live payments will settle.
Sandbox test values are not a substitute for PCI DSS controls. Keep real card data out of test systems, restrict access to sandbox credentials, and use test values only in development. If a page claims to sell CVV data or live card numbers, treat it as a fraud risk and do not use it. Braintree test cards are for testing payment flows, not for validating real card data.

Braintree publishes sandbox test card numbers. The "v9" label comes from third-party lists, not Braintree docs. Test values fail in production.
Braintree test card v8 is not a unique card set. Use standard Braintree sandbox test numbers like 4111111111111111 for approvals and specific numbers for declines.
There is no legitimate place to sell CVV data. Trafficking in card verification values is card fraud under U.S. law; use lawful payment and fraud-reporting channels instead.
