Why I can't write this guide

A "CVV" sold on the open market is a stolen card verification value, the three or four digit code tied to someone else's credit card account. Sites that sell them are fencing stolen financial data. Buying, reselling, or using that data to authorize a transaction is card fraud in every U.S. state and under federal law, and it typically brings in wire fraud, identity theft, and access device statutes as well.

I won't write a buying guide for that market, compare sellers, describe price bands, or list red flags for picking a "cheap" vendor, because all of that amounts to helping someone commit a crime that damages real people. Merchants eat the chargebacks, cardholders deal with frozen accounts, and buyers face felony charges plus civil liability.

Legitimate alternatives

If the underlying goal is taking card payments, testing checkout flows, or reducing fraud losses, there are lawful paths. Payment processors offer sandbox environments with test card numbers for integration work. Merchant acquirers publish chargeback and fraud-scoring guidance. Card networks and the FTC publish plain-language material on recognizing and reporting stolen-card schemes.

If you have been affected

Report stolen card data or a fraudulent charge to your card issuer right away, then file a report with the FTC at IdentityTheft.gov and, if you are a merchant, with your acquirer's fraud team. Fast reporting is what limits the damage.
