Choosing the Best CVV Online Sale Platform
Discover the key factors to consider when selecting the top CVV online sale platform for your needs.
There is no legal CVV online sale option. A CVV is a security code tied to a payment card. Card networks and US law treat the sale of card verification values as access device fraud. Sites that advertise CVVs for sale sell stolen card data or run advance-fee scams. Both outcomes carry the same risks: lost money and criminal charges.
Choosing the Best CVV Online Sale Platform
A card verification value is the three or four digit code printed on a payment card. Visa calls the online version CVV2. Mastercard calls it CVC2. American Express prints a four digit code on the front. The code is not stored in the magnetic stripe or the chip. The PCI Security Standards Council bars merchants from storing the code after a transaction is authorized. That rule exists so a database breach does not hand attackers a working card number plus code.
Most sites and chat groups that list CVVs for sale move data taken from phishing pages, skimmers, or merchant breaches. Listings quote a "valid rate," which is a claim about how many cards still work. Buyers pay in cryptocurrency. Sellers keep the money and deliver nothing, or deliver card numbers that get declined. Federal prosecutors file these cases as access device fraud.
18 U.S.C. 1029 covers the production, sale, and possession of access devices with intent to defraud. Certain counts carry up to 15 years in prison, plus fines. Sentences increase when an offense involves 15 or more devices or $1,000 or more in a one-year period. The Department of Justice also charges identity theft under 18 U.S.C. 1028A, which adds a mandatory two-year term on top of the underlying sentence.
Call the number on the back of the card and ask for a replacement. Review statements for small test charges. File a report at the FTC's IdentityTheft.gov. A freeze at each credit bureau blocks new accounts opened in your name. The FTC reports that card fraud is the most common identity theft category.
No regulator, card network, or bank licenses the sale of CVVs. There is no verified seller, no escrow service, and no consumer protection. The only guaranteed results are financial loss or a federal charge.
