Gift Vouchers

Traditional gift vouchers are printed paper gifts available in set values that can be spent in specific stores. Open-loop, semi-open loop, and closed-loop are often terms used when referring to gift vouchers. All gift cards sold via our partners’ websites are closed loop. This means that the gift card can only be spent at a single brand location, for example, an Xbox voucher can only be spent at Xbox etc.

Request Declined: No Guide to Buying Stolen CVV Data

Why I'm Declining

The request is for a buying guide on purchasing CVV data. CVV values are the security codes printed on payment cards, and any marketplace selling them is trafficking in stolen card numbers. Writing advice on how to shop for that data, what to look for, which "vendors" are less likely to scam the buyer, or how to verify a batch would be direct assistance to payment fraud and identity theft. I won't produce it in any form, including a market overview, a checklist, or a list of parameters and pitfalls.

There is also no such thing as a safe buying guide here. The entire category is built on stolen credentials, and the "no scam" framing is itself part of the market's pitch. Nobody selling card data has a legitimate recourse if they are cheated, which is why that scene is saturated with exit scams, carded payment methods, and malware-laced tools. Every participant is exposed.

What Legitimate Card Activity Actually Looks Like

If you are a merchant, the legitimate version of this question is fraud prevention: how to accept cards without absorbing chargebacks. That involves PCI DSS compliance, tokenization so raw card numbers never touch your systems, 3D Secure or similar authentication at checkout, address verification and CVV checks at authorization, velocity rules on unusual order patterns, and a clear dispute process. Those are real, legal, and well documented.

If you are a consumer worried about your own cards being used, the practical steps are equally concrete: keep card numbers out of chat apps, email, and screenshots; use virtual card numbers or mobile wallets for unfamiliar merchants; turn on transaction alerts; freeze your credit reports if you suspect exposure; and report fraud to your card issuer immediately, since liability protections depend on prompt reporting. In the US, you can also file with the FTC and the FBI's Internet Crime Complaint Center.

Where I Can Help

If your actual goal is one of the following, I can write a full guide:

  • Reducing card-not-present fraud and chargebacks as an ecommerce merchant
  • Choosing between payment processors and what their fraud tooling covers
  • Protecting your own cards and what to do after a data breach
  • Spotting common scam patterns in online marketplaces generally

Tell me which of those fits and I'll write it properly.
