Can you legally buy CVVs online?

No. A CVV is the security code printed on a payment card or generated for a digital wallet. Buying, selling, or sharing CVV data without the cardholder's authorization is carding fraud, not a normal ecommerce purchase. This page does not list vendors or compare prices for stolen card data.

U.S. law treats this as identity theft and unauthorized access. The Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and state identity-theft statutes apply. A shop that advertises CVVs for sale is not a legitimate retailer.

Why CVV shops are a trap

Sellers in these markets routinely exit scam, resell the same card data, or deliver invalid numbers. Buyers also face account takeovers, malware, and extortion. There is no buyer protection, no refund path, and no lawful dispute process.

What happens to cardholders

Stolen CVV data is used to drain accounts and buy goods. Victims spend weeks disputing charges. Merchants absorb chargebacks and higher processing fees.

What to do instead

If you need to accept or make card payments, use a licensed payment processor and PCI-compliant tools. If you need a disposable card number, ask your bank about virtual cards. If your own card data is exposed, freeze the card and report it.

How to report a CVV shop

Report the site to the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center and the FTC. In the U.S., you can also contact your state attorney general. Do not send money or card data to the seller.
